VersaBadge Deepens Commitment to Rural Health with Platinum NRHA Partnership

Expanded Partnership Supports Advocacy, Innovation, and Financial Stability in Rural Healthcare

This year, VersaBadge has advanced to the Platinum level in our partnership with the National Rural Health Association (NRHA), deepening our commitment to our roots in rural health care. This upgrade from our prior partnership reflects both organizations' aligned mission to equip Critical Access Hospitals, Rural Health Clinics, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and other rural health care organizations with the tools they need to succeed in today’s evolving healthcare environment.

Founded in 2016 as a co-development initiative with rural hospitals, VersaBadge now supports more than 250 Critical Access Hospitals nationwide. Our flagship innovation, automated time studies, was developed in direct response to the reimbursement challenges faced by rural providers. By capturing accurate, audit-ready data for CMS cost reports, VersaBadge enables hospitals to unlock significant cost-based reimbursement for ED standby and administrative time, while also powering time studies across hospitalist programs, cross-departmental clinicians, ambulance services, and support staff. In an era of tightening margins, this capability offers a critical lever for financial sustainability.

What began as a focused solution for time studies has evolved, driven by client feedback and the innovation of rural health leaders, into a broader platform addressing the daily operational and safety challenges rural hospitals face. As providers navigate workforce shortages, limited resources, and increasing regulatory demands, VersaBadge offers practical, scalable innovation that improves cost reporting, compliance, and real-time visibility across rural care environments. From discreet staff duress alerting that enhances workplace safety, to tools for asset tracking, rounding, and hand hygiene monitoring, VersaBadge helps teams operate more safely and efficiently.

“We have enjoyed a wonderful partnership with the NRHA for nearly ten years and are unwavering in our commitment to rural health care,” said Bryan Knowles, CEO at VersaBadge. “We’re honored to renew at the Platinum level and continue innovating in partnership with our clients to deliver meaningful impact for rural hospitals and health systems.”

As a Platinum Partner, VersaBadge will continue to support NRHA-led advocacy, education, and industry initiatives—ensuring our technology evolves in step with the needs of rural health care.
