The hospital expanded VersaBadge to include Staff Duress Alerting and Asset and Inventory Tracking, and is now implementing Proactive Patient Rounding. Instead of managing a collection of disconnected tools, Kalkaska is building on one platform as new priorities emerge.

VersaBadge uses small Bluetooth receivers and lightweight staff badges to track location and trigger automated workflows, without asking staff to change how they already work. For Kalkaska, that meant replacing manual, error-prone time studies with continuous, automatic tracking of ED provider standby time, the kind of defensible documentation cost-based reimbursement depends on.
Jeremy Cannon credits the rollout's success to something bigger than the hardware itself.
